Are you looking for a wedding photographer in Sorrento ?
Well, If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in Italy, Sorrento offers everything you could wish for: sea views, romantic venues, and unforgettable atmosphere. When Melissa and Tomas chose this stunning corner of the Amalfi Coast for their symbolic wedding, they knew it would be magical — and it was.

As a destination wedding photographer in Italy I work in Sorrento area as well and I had the pleasure of capturing their entire day in a pure, honest, and emotional way — through documentary-style wedding photography.

Villa Zagara symbolic ceremony of bride and groom destination wedding in Sorrento

Bridal Prep at Palazzo Marziale

As a wedding photographer in Sorrento I’ve found some stunning views!
Melissa got ready at Palazzo Marziale, a charming and elegant historic residence in the center of Sorrento. The atmosphere was calm and joyful. As she prepared with her closest friends, the morning unfolded naturally, filled with smiles, anticipation, and quiet emotional moments — the kind of scenes I love to photograph discreetly, without interruptions or staging.

Symbolic Ceremony on the Staircase of Villa Zagara

The ceremony took place on the iconic stone staircase of Villa Zagara, surrounded by lush gardens and bathed in soft Mediterranean light. The symbolic celebration was heartfelt and personal, with handwritten vows, emotional glances, and the sound of laughter and tears blending together.

From my position, I could capture both the couple and the reactions of their guests — the hugs, the tears, the smiles. Moments that happen once, and never again.

A Panoramic Toast Overlooking the Coast

Right after the ceremony, all the guests were invited to a panoramic balcony with an incredible view over the Sorrento coastline. It was one of the most touching parts of the day — the newlyweds toasting surrounded by their loved ones, the sea in the background, and the golden light of the late afternoon wrapping everything in warmth.

This is the kind of moment where documentary photography shines: real, unfiltered, emotional.

Dinner, Speeches & Fritti Tipici

Dinner was served in the villa’s garden, elegantly set with long tables, fairy lights, and traditional Italian dishes. The speeches were emotional and personal — the kind that bring tears and laughter in equal measure. I made sure to document not just the speakers, but also the spontaneous reactions of parents, siblings, and friends.

After the cake cutting, something very “Sorrentine” happened: freshly made fritti tipici (local fried snacks) were served hot from a dedicated stand. A surprise that delighted every guest and added a fun, authentic touch to the night.

An Elegant, Joyful Party Under the Stars

As the music began, the lighting changed, setting the mood for a real party. Atmospheric lights, wild dancing, and pure happiness closed the day in the best possible way. Melissa and Tomas celebrated surrounded by love, laughter, and Italian charm — a perfect ending to a perfect day.

Why Choose a Documentary Wedding Photographer in Sorrento?

Because it’s not about posed photos — it’s about capturing what’s real. The tear your father wiped away. Your best friend’s laughter. That quiet moment when you took a breath and realized: this is really happening.

My approach to destination wedding photography in Sorrento is simple: I observe, I listen, and I capture the truth of your day.

No awkward poses. No interruptions. Just you — as you are.

Planning a Destination Wedding in Sorrento? Here’s What You Should Know

Sorrento is one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in Italy — and it’s easy to understand why. Overlooking the Bay of Naples, it offers a perfect blend of stunning sea views, vibrant Italian culture, delicious food, and charming venues full of character.

Whether you’re planning a symbolic ceremony or a civil one, Sorrento has options for every couple. Most destination weddings here take place between May and October, with the best weather from June to September. Symbolic ceremonies are especially popular, offering full freedom in location and style.

A few quick tips if you’re dreaming of saying “I do” in Sorrento:

  • Hire a local wedding planner (they know the vendors, the permits, and how to handle logistics)
  • Choose a venue with a view — rooftops, gardens, or terraces overlooking the coast
  • Embrace the local flavors: Italian cuisine is part of the experience!
  • Work with a photographer who knows the area and can capture your day naturally, without staging

And that’s where I come in — as a documentary-style wedding photographer in Sorrento, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing some of the most emotional and unique destination weddings here, like the one of Melissa and Tomas, which I’m thrilled to share with you below.
